Founding partner Brian T. McNelis, Esquire, attended the University of Virginia as well as Widener School of Law, gaining admission to the Delaware Bar in 1990. Brian served as the Ruby R. Vale Law Clerk for Delaware Supreme Court Justice Henry R. Horsey in 1989. Brian practiced defense almost exclusively from 1992 through 1996 with the firm of Bailey and Wetzel in Wilmington, Delaware. He then spent nine years employed with Nationwide's Trial Division in Newark, Delaware. Brian is a member of the Delaware bar Association, Kent County Bar Association, as well as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has litigated over 60 cases to a jury verdict, including trials in all three Delaware Counties and the Federal District Court.

​Partner Jeffrey A. Young, Esquire attended Swarthmore College and Villanova University School of Law, gaining admission to the Delaware Bar in 1995.  He is also admitted to the United States District Court and the United States Supreme Court.  Following a clerkship with Superior Court Judges Maxson Terry, Jr. and Henry DuPont Ridgely, Jeff joined his father in private practice at the firm of Young & Young until Rob young became a Superior Court Judge and Young & McNelis was formed in 2005.  Jeff has served as President of the Kent County Bar Association, the Terry-Carey American Inn of Court, and the Delaware Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and he remains an active member of those groups.  Jeff also serves on the Board of Directors for Bayhealth, Inc. as well as the Delaware Stadium Corporation, and was a previous board member of the Delaware Community Legal Aid Society.  Jeff is a member of the Best Buddies Blue Gold Board of Trustees and various Delaware legal committees, including the Supreme Court Rules Committee, the Superior Court Rules Committee, the Permanent Advisory Committee on the Delaware Uniform Rules of Evidence and the Delaware Lawyers Rules of Professional Conduct, the Delaware State Bar Association Nominating Committee and Fee Dispute Committee in addition to serving on the Board on Professional Responsibility.  Jeff is a certified mediator and has extensive jury trial experience, as well as appellate experience in the Delaware Supreme Court.  Jeff is also a past member of the Delaware State Bar Association Executive Committee; and a current Board member of the Delaware Bar Foundation. He has been voted by his peers as a Top Lawyer in Delaware Today multiple times.
